Athena pension is old Ottoman house and it is guesthouse since 1989, The house is two store and it has rooms with bathroom and share. Athena pension is bed and breakfast house and it is has characterfull rooms and for any budged guests, thats why We love The Athena. 

We bought a property in 2005, restored it by 2008 and this new propery(200years old)just ten meter by the Athena pension So, the fate made us think to run two guesthouse. It will be even better because this two property has nice options. Nice thing about Athena house is all the rooms are special because they are diffirent size and chracterfull and there is room types for most peoples like to stay but only eight rooms is sometimes difficult because we are member to online bookings and we afraid to be over booked in summers, and Athena is good for serving breakfast but one of our dream is to make barbequ(but in stone oven)and turkish meals in ceramic cups and use antic plates with wood spoon(should I keep my ideas sacred?hehe:-))  NO no.no...personaly Our wish is; all guesthouses in country firstly at least escapes from plastic chair-tables.. anyway Athenas courtyard was small for barbequ dream, in this point the house we bought and trying to arrance comes to big help for our dreams, because the other house has very big garden and it is not near to rooms. There is also stoneoven that we can use but we dont have experence for that..at the other hand with two guesthouse we will have fourteen special rooms(at the moment we have Ottoman rooms with nice high ceiling and decored, with Acropolis view, with old safe and cupboards and with second it will be Ottoman rooms with four windows with all high ceiling and bathroom in wardrobe and some rooms with old fire place)  and lots of space for gardening(roze,vegetable and spice garden), camping, cooking, local wine storige, like a house museum and smoke nargile outdoor and homemade bread in wood fire stonoven will offer itself old style life history..

More About Renovation houses;

According to date on the gate door the house built in 1225 with Hicri Calender but to translate to this perriod calender it becomes in 1810..
According to our Architect Bulent Sahin`s PERGAMON IN THE HISTORY OF ANATOLIA book in page 34 wrotes;
"..In the 18th. century the dynasty of the Arapogullari ruled Bergama. Their mansions were located along the Selinos Stream. According to the archives. Selcuk and Barbaros were the most prominent quarters in those times"

Personal ideas;
As far as I understand from our talks with Architecht Bulent Sahin, Our neighbore house was the gate for camels and our part was the accomation for Ottoman merchants. Our garden faces to three dead end roads one of them goes to Sadirvan(Ottoman city centrum) our property is small almost 1.000sq(..comparing to one piece of mansions)and probably the best part but Arabogullari mansions was probably more than 10.000sq in past(just guesing) and on the street to Athena pension, only  neigbores and our property has big gates and only in our gate there is date mentioned(this is a sign for us)..in fact, this is our one of the biggest wish to learn and to make it clear we would like to get help from Ottoman archives instead of making rumors or guesing..We will see..I have this ideas from google map and from our map! Because If you look to our map link you will reconice and especially look over to IMAM CIKMAZI(the one comes to Athena Pension),KARABEY CIKMAZI, BARBAROS 17.CIKMAZI and BARBAROS 2.CIKMAZI dead end streets(in turkish it is Cikmaz) and when I think more in buseness mind, probably most of this dead streets was road to many GATES of the ARABOGULLARI KONAKs  I need more search it is very exciting :-)
